Photography Competition 2021

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Park Hill, we now invite submissions to the 2021 residents photography competition with the theme:

Park Hill in 2021
through the eyes of the people
who live and work here.

We are privileged to have wider access to our famous building than just the facade, and are on hand to experience the light and shadows from its geometric patterns at different times of the day and weather conditions.  This provides great opportunities to capture unique images which are not easily available to others. It is also an interesting point in time to document the estate, which continues to be in a period of change, with completed, ongoing and still to begin renovations.

A selection of entries will be included in a limited edition photobook, as a permanent record of the estate in its 60th year and of the talents of its residents. Only 60 copies will be published and these will be available to purchase later in the year, with profits returned to the Park Hill Residents’ Association.  A copy will also be presented to Sheffield City library so will form a publicly held record that people can look back on in another 60 years.

We are also excited to confirm that we will be holding an exhibition at Weston Park Museum later this year, in which a selection of entries will be displayed.

Submissions

The competition is open to anyone currently living or working at Park Hill.  Whether you are a long term resident, just moved in, staying at Béton House for the academic year or work at any of the businesses on site, you are all eligible to enter.

You may submit up to 3 photographs.

Photo files should be uploaded here

Each file should be named with the following information in the order shown and separated by spaces:

[Your name] [Your address - number and street- or workplace] [Photo Title].jpg
