Despite lockdown and other Covid-19 restrictions, the Park Hill Book Club is still welcoming new members at its monthly online meetings. Convenor, Kimberley, describes the Book Club as follows:

It’s more a book and booze club, really. Before lockdown, we would meet at 7:30pm on the first Monday of the month at the Trades and Labour Club on Duke Street (a five minute walk away). We pick books from the library and spend the month reading. We then get together to discuss the book, talking about what we liked and what we didn’t like. The last half hour/hour of the meeting is very social. We talk about Park Hill, Sheffield, things that are going on, hobbies or anything else we think others might find interesting. It is really laid back and we have a huge range of people that come along. It is really friendly. We’ve been going about five years now and members will pop in and out whenever they can make it. Some didn’t come for a year because of work commitments but then came back. It’s a really nice club to be a part of.
